Hi all, I hope you are all well! 2 weeks ago, I announced that the fitness apparel line of Fitness To A Tee – Fitness leaf, is launching on 29 August 2020. You can click here now to read that blog post in case you missed it!
I’m so excited that I have teamed up with Melbourne based super stylist Zareen Zeenath of Style by Zee, who will be leading styling for the photoshoot and various social media images which will be produced for Fitness leaf.
I am so happy that you are all walking the journey with me as we head to launch!! So I wanted you to meet and get to know the beautiful lady who will be part of the Fitness leaf team!
Hi Zee! Thank you so much for being part of this project! I remember that we clicked when we met about 2 years ago at a Melbourne meet-up event. We then worked together on 2 projects where you were the head stylist: 1 where I was modelling beautiful designs by Australian designer Lucy Laurita and then another where I modelled for Vogue-published, Australian designer Effie Kats. I love how you bring effortless elegance, class and vibrancy to life with all the shoots which you are involved in.
Tell us a little more about yourself, please.
Hello everyone my name is Zeenath ( Zee ) – the owner of Style by zee, which is a styling platform that helps individuals to feel good from the inside to the outside.
I have the absolute privilege of calling 2 beautiful countries my home – Sri Lanka and Australia. Sri Lanka is a beautiful island surrounded by gorgeous beaches; incredible people and more than anything – a culture which values true human connection. My childhood was filled with happy memories; beautiful food; and great adventures in my grandmother’s back yard .
During my early teenage years I moved to Australia – a country that gave me so much to be truly grateful for . Coming to Australia is one of the best things that has happened to me . This beautiful country made and reshaped who I am today.
What are your most rewarding achievements in your business as stylist so far?
Because I value connection so much, I’m happy that I’ve successfully made more than 450+ meaningful connections with people I have met from styling work shops .
I’ve been able to raise incredible amount of funds for a variety of charities using my platform.
I get to collaborate with Vogue published brands, so for example, I have successfully helped 2 brands showcase their new collections and make their collections instantly sold out on launch!
These are only a few career highlights which I’ve achieved in a very short period of time and I’m so incredibly grateful for all these wonderful opportunities.
What are your biggest challenges + how do you overcome them or “sit with them”?
My biggest challenge is to learn how to juggle everything around me . I have a 1 year old who I adore, who constantly needs lots of attention. I also have an almost full time job as a stylist and a highly demanding social media platform as a part of my business.
I’ve figured out that a ” to do list ” is the key for me . The minute I put all my tasks to paper – I get them done . I also learn not to sweat small unnecessary stuff . My time is so very important to me so I’m very picky about who I spend time with. In particular, I pay closer attention to my friendship circle. Most of my friends are highly successful people, so it constantly gives me the opportunity and platform to do better.
I also take “self care ” very seriously. If I’ve learnt one thing in business, it’s your business is a mirror of who you are and taking care of you is the biggest investment you can give toward your business.
What are your 2 top, easy style tips for women worldwide of any size to help boost their confidence that they can use from today?
Buy a few good lipsticks or a tinted lip balm. Trust me when I say this, you can’t be sad for so long with a beautiful lip colour on!
Invest in good underwear . When it comes to under wear, you definitely get what you pay for . So make it your biggest investment. And everything just looks so much better with great underwear !!
Is there anything you can tell us about our own individual style and the power of having a personal style?
|“What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today when contact is so quick . Fashion is an instant language”- Miuccia Prada|
We live in a culture that constantly bombards us with inducements to buy . However isn’t it fascinating that when it comes to clothes, we have nothing to wear?
That’s because we often don’t understand the difference between fashion and style .
Let’s make this clear.
Fashion is the changing process of clothes and accessories.
Style is our own unique personality – a little excursion into self expression. Style is what makes us who we are – our own essence as humans . In this case personal style is a way of self expression through clothes. It is self knowledge; self confidence and a life-affirming mindful expression of who you are .
In a world in which you can’t control most of the things happening around you – your personal style is one of the things you can control. Style can make you want more; move mountains; crush interviews and take on the world! It’s about your state of mind, who you are and it’s all you – without trying to explain more .
So own who you are! Be explorative; create; break boundaries; be courageous and committed enough to find your own style.
More than anything be YOU !!!
Wishing you all the success and style!
Until next time! Zee (Style by zee)
